Taste of the Taj: Elegant Dining Experience

Hello Friends,

Not every day one gets to dine at a five star restaurant, but when I did get the chance, I soaked in the ambience and enjoyed the beauty and elegance that is so typical of such places.  Chennai boasts of a decent list of five star hotels, we have the Hyatt Regency, Park Hyatt, ITC Grand Chola, The Leela Palace,  Crowne Plaza, Vivanta by Taj Connemera, Le Royal Meridien, Radisson Blu to name a few.

However, the Taj Coramandel in Nungambakkam remains to be one of the most well-appointed and well maintained hotels in the city. We gather that the likes of political figures such as President Jimmy Carter, His Royal Highness Prince Andrew, President Bill Clinton have stayed at the Taj.

The Taj Coramandel is known for its rich heritage, reflecting all that is so characteristic of Chennai.  A large lobby with polished marble flooring lends the hotel a magnificence of a palace, and right in the midst of the lobby is a tea lounge with an attached cake shop. The setting is perfect for a business meeting as you settle down in the cozy sofas placed welcomingly. There is bright lighting, and a piano adds to the beauty of the tea lounge which offers a Champagne High Tea, as their signature item.

Additionally Taj Coramandel offers dining options such as: Southern Spice (South Indian) Golden Dragon (Chinese) Anise (Coffee Shop) Prego (Italian) Chipstead (Bar).
