Sri Jagannath Temple: Spiritual and Peaceful

By August 13, 2017No Comments

Just after the toll gate at the ECR, on the left hand (that is if you are driving from Tidel) in a quiet residential areas lies one of the most beautiful temples that I have ever seen. This is a Lord Krishna temple built in the Odisha style and dedicated to Lord Jagannath of Puri. A majestic entrance with a stupi welcomes you. All over the temple there is greenery, ponds, and most of the shrines are placed amidst thick foliage making the entire experience spiritual and peaceful.

Along with the main deity, Lord Jagannath there is Lord Ganesha, Godess Lakshmi, and Navagraha. At the ground floor level there is a marble meditation hall as well. The ceiling of the shrine of the main deity is amazingly decorated in richly coloured wall paintings. Visiting this temple transports you to North Indian where such types of architecture and temples are common. This is a a unique temple situated in the outskirts of Chennai.
