Hello Friends,

The city of Madurai is a vibrant and prominent city in TamilNadu, situated in the banks of River Vaigai. Naturally known for the very famous Meenakshi Amman Temple, it throbs with life, is a seat of Tamil literature and is rich in cultural heritage.

Temples abound in and around Madurai and a visitor to this city needs to plan well to cover many of the temples that are steeped in tradition. Most of them are several hundred years old, and very huge to walk within.  Steeped in tradition these temples are breathtaking sights with so much history attached to them. Be it Pillayarpatti, Pazhani or Thiruparankunram all of the temples attracts us with their marvelous architecture and rich colours.

My recent visit to Madurai left me checking out the accommodation options, and we zeroed in on GRT Regency at Pazhanganantham Main Road. The hotel is marvelous with squeaky clean rooms, delicious high quality food, prompt service and accessible to all the major local tourist spots.  Our experience staying at the GRT Regency turned out to be pleasant and relaxing. Right from keeping the room clean, to serving the food just the way we wanted, helping us with packed breakfasts during our travel and ensuring we had all we wanted, Team GRT Regency were certainly top notch. We did notice a large number of foreign tourists staying here, and were very appreciative of the hotel and its facilities/features.

They have about 50 plus aesthetically created comfortable Deluxe and Superior rooms, with free WiFi access. Their Aaaharam restaurant offers round the clock in-room dining. On-site amenities include an outdoor swimming pool, extensive business and conference facilities, a multi-cuisine fine dining restaurant – Ahaaram, a popular lounge bar – Madhuram, and a modern fitness centre. Ayush, the Ayurvedic Spa offers an array of traditional therapies. As part of our stay we were provided with a complimentary breakfast that had a wide variety of Indian, Tandoor and English breakfast options.

Here are some pictures of the hotel that will help plan your trip smartly the next time you visit Madurai.
