Hello Friends,
There is a fantastic exhibition of golu dolls, handicrafts, furniture, paintings and several other home décor items on display at the Central Cottage Industries Emporium at the Teynampet – Nandanam junction at the Temple Towers building. They have three floors (no elevator, mind you) of a wide array of colourful, tasteful handicrafts from across India. The ground floor has many sculptures and very interesting collection of objets d’art, most of them are pretty big and would do well for a bungalow or the front lobby of a hotel. But that does not mean you cannot find anything for your homes/apartments. There is quite a few medium sized home décor items and handicrafts which are extremely beautiful. As you climb up the winding wooden staircase, there is a mezzanine section that hosts paintings.
However, the topmost floor is the place where the main action lies. So don’t miss to visit it, here there are textiles, yardage, furniture, cutlery, crockery, golu dolls, and lamp shades. Prices are a tad high, but if you are looking ultimate quality and you want to do up your homes for the upcoming festive season – then this is the place to go to.
