Padmashri Kamal Haasan’s Viswaroopam 2 has class, excellent performances, brilliantly choreographed action sequences, beautiful heroines who share screen space with the doyen. But what is the plot and why certain things are done baffles me. From under sea diving to jumping through the roof practically this RAW agent does practically everything to perfection. Knowing Kamal Haasan and his passion for perfection what else can you expect?
The interludes between Andrea and the RAW agent are interesting and Priya Kumar as the lovely and loving wife is enjoyable as well. In fact it’s nice to see her transformation from a bored wife who can’t stand her husband to a woman in love who is awed by the husband’s bravado. Ok we get the gist, here is a RAW agent who is trying to prevent an al-Qaida terrorist attack on New York.
But the amount of violence, the confusing set of events leaves one muddled. What could have been an excellent narrative with crisp storyline loses focus in between and ends up diluted and weak. One thing I was particularly amused was the Tamil that the characters spoke, it was so Tamil Brahmin accent.
