Sketch: Lost in a maze of plots

Hello Friends,

Well what the director was thinking when he was making the film and casting an high profile actor like Vikram I am not sure. But this is a film that is a cross between action and romance. Just when you settle down to think that you are getting into the action category and that Vikram aka Sketch is going to flex his muscles, you are dragged into the romance area. So pretty much oscillation happens between these two genres and what originally must have been maybe was a tight action screen play with meaningful romance. But that becomes watered down a bit and we get to see gang wars and Sketch executing vehicle abduction with ease. Skethc’s boss, until the very end we don’t know if he is the villain or just a plain nice guy.

There is convincing performances by Vikram and Tammannah, the lead pair have pulled it off superbly. But sadly the plot does not support their performances. With the Bahubali princess and a veteran actor like Vikram available the film could have been made with more thought and planning.

Their love story also has not been scoped out well, so suddenly there are strong scenes of them together and then Tammannah vanishes. With a lot of films being made these days, if one has to stand out there definitely needs to be detailing and slick presentation. The final message was indeed a good turning point, telling us how the teenagers turn culprits and that they are behind all the killing.

At the end of the day if content is good, viewers are willing to look beyond other faults. But if films fail to make their mark in neither area, then its fate is sealed.

All in all the film is a time pass one which will not absorb you but entertain you to some extent.
