Dastkar Handlooms Exhibition: So Simple So Elegant

At the CP Art Centre on Eldams Road, Chennai the Dastkar Handloom exhibition is on from August 3^rd to 5^th. Yardage, sarees, dupattas and stole sare on exhibition and sale right now.

I gather that this exhibition and sale happens twice a year in Chennai and their collection is simply amazing. Elegant, sophisticated, cotton, mild colours, kalamkari motifs, stripes, lines, and kalakshetra type borders are so appealing.

It is so difficult to make your pick, as just when you have decided on a dupatta you seem to be wanting to pick up that off white saree and of course the salwar suit in dark green next to that as well. Mixing and matching outfits can be done easily here, like for e.g. in case you are one of those like me who cannot part with a favourite ikat dupatta in dark red, you can bring it to the exhibition and buy yardage to create your own set.
