Hello Friends,
Thalapathy Vijay as he is fondly called is growing in stature and style with every film. Known for his mass entertaining capacity, amazing dance moves, superb comedy timing and regaling romance rendezvous, has done it again in – Sarkar. A youthful Vijay looking dapper goes political this time in Sarkar, he chooses a neat plot of a citizen fighting for his voting right and the travails that he undergoes to obtain his rightful vote. This film clearly indicates that the actor is shrugging off his playful rowdy Romeo image to a more mature, thinking, sensible young man who has the capacity to lead by example. Good move Vijay!
The theme of the film yes, is steeped in Politics. And asks so many pertinent questions that you and I as citizens want to ask. The sorry state of affairs in the state of TamilNadu and how people from the villages are struggling for a livelihood is spotlighted. Key issues such as farmer suicide, abominable interest rates are discussed on the one side and on the other there is the NRI clout that Vijay as Sundar Ramaswamy wields. He is the CEO of a huge organization and is known to be a `Corporate Monster’ who buys companies in every country clinching mega deals across the world. So he knows how to bring his lawyer clan to help him fight his voting right.
Carrying the film on his broad shoulders Vijay comes across as a genuine young man fighting to save his state. His smart NRI approach that outwits the local veshti clad politicians is interesting to watch. The others in the cast play their part well, but more to aid Vijay than to have a role for themselves. Keerthi and Varalakshmi add the zing to the film but its Vijay you remember as you walk out of the theatre. What Vijay has in mind in relation to Politics we do not know, though there are broad hints, this film is a clear indication that he is on the threshold to something bigger, something new and something that will define him in the years to come.
