Did you know that the GNChetty Road in T.Nagar is dotted with boutiques, cafes, pizza places, restaurants, mega stores, parks, shops, temples and good old houses?
From Saravana Stores, to Bata footwear showroom, to Pothys Boutique, to Hot Breads Bakery, to Dominos Pizza, Jain Temple and to Jeeva Park we have just about everything. These days I don’t find myself going anywhere else to shop as all of my needs from groceries to haute couture are met with, right here. As a friend jokingly remarked that, GNCHetty Road is the wannabe Khader Nawaz Road of Chennai. Quite rightly so!
So what harm does one more shop do to this long list? Well yes, Saachee is the new kid on the block and we welcome her with open arms. Saachee is a ladies boutique that specializes in wedding sarees, lehengas (long dress), dress material and of course ready to wear salwar suits (Indian pant suit). 
My guess is that, if you have a wedding in the family and want to shop for all of the ladies of the family, including the bride at one shot – then Saachee would be your destination point. As it caters to all of your needs at one shot. Be it a dressy lehenga for the brides’ sister, or a bright saree with sequins and mirrors for the bride, a tussar (type of silk) silk for the mother in law, a benaras (type of silk) silk saree for the mother, a crisp cotton for the young aunt, a flowy salwar for the college going cousin – you would find it all here, am sure.
I met Mr.Raju the store manager and owner who was extremely cordial and invited me to take snaps to share with all of you. He seems unruffled by the other mega clothes giants sharing real estate space in the same area. Apparently he was earlier a part of the Varsidhi (a ladies boutique) who have been around in T.Nagar for a while now. He is very sure of his own clientele and comes across as a person who knows his trade pretty well. So, if you plan to be shopping at Saachee soon make it point to take his advice as he knows a thing or two about salwars and sarees.

BT Bottom Line: We had a beautiful time shopping at Saachee recently and our recommendation for this boutique is STRONG!
