Chennai Day and Ganesha Chathurthi fall on the same day, and both cannot be without each other. Chennai’s identity is characterized by a few things such as: the December Music Season, Filter Coffee, Mylapore Bazaar, Temples, Pondy Bazaar, Idlis and Sambar (South Indian food dishes) Jasmine flowers. And in this mélange of Madras, the Ganesha tiny temples dotting the city adds so much beauty to the city. If there is one god who is so much available to the common man it is HIM – Ganesha. He is the dearest and nearest, and considered to be the remover of all obstacles. People are known for their Ganesha collections, and he comes in all shapes and sizes.
