Amelie's Cafe & Creamery: New Sweet Kid On The Block

Amelie’s is a comfortable and classy place for cakes and more! Bang in the middle of Seshadri Road in Alwarpet, lies Amelie’s, on one end the road opens into Venus Colony and on the far end it leads to Cathedral Road. As you drive, make sure you watch out for a small and neat signboard that says – Amelie’s.

As I walk in, it gives me the feeling of walking into an elegant home and there is parking space for a few cars and of course valet parking available as well. When I push open the glass door, I am welcomed by apple green walls and flowered sofas and tastefully done interiors. Every bit of the place so beautifully done, the walls smartly decorated with mirrors, plates, lights and more. There is a judicious juxtaposition of colours and black white mixed with greys. The café is done up so well, that I was looking around in admiration and forgot to eat, well almost.

It is certainly a place, where you can sit down enjoy the ambiance, grab sandwhich without having the neighbor from the next table gawk at you. Menu is affordable and from the look of it the desserts seem to be the main attraction, right now. Can you believe it? two scoops of ice cream was Rs.99! Italian and continental fare available as well.

There is a big meeting room ideal for corporate meetings and other personal bashes as well. Amelie’s is at ground floor level allowing senior citizens to walk in without a problem. As I exited, could see families laughing and arriving at Amelie’s to enjoy their evenings and food. Hmmm, nice indeed. Must try again, I said to myself.

This is yet another venture of Mr.Mahadevan of Hot Breads, who has Writer’s Cafe opened at Peters Road recently as well, where burns victims are given employment oppurtunities.
