Hello Friends,
Who steals the show though is Raj Kiran who with his sober and sophisticated acting gets the applause. Wish this actor gets more interesting roles, and it is sad indeed such good talent is never put to much use.
Plot wise there is nothing new, it is the return of the hero to his village and saves his father from the usual themes of vendetta and revenge. He promises to his father the safe and smooth conduct of the village festival (thiruvizha) and also nurses his wounded father at home. He ensures that none of the villagers know that his father is wounded and how he manages that makes it an interesting watch.
He falls for the vivacious Sembaruthi (Keerthy Suresh) and that is quite acceptable as there is a mention of Hema (Meera Jasmine) being no more. The seven year gap after which Balu returns to his home town amply says that the passage of time has helped him heal and move on in life. Keerthy carries off her role with aplomb and finesse, she is no wall flower here and has a meaty part in the proceedings.
All in all it makes a good entertainer.
