Hello Friends,
The latest Jyothika film release, Kaatrin Mozhi is a tale of a homemaker who is bursting with energy and raring to step out into the world and do things. Unfortunately, she has failed her 12th board exam hence hampering her chances of a full-time job. But her spirit is intact and she comes up with so many ideas to start her own business. She is blessed with a loving husband and son and is happy in her cocoon but the desire to be more haunts her. In spite of the taunts by her father and sisters who constantly reprimand her for giving up on studies she rises ahead like a phoenix.
The opportunity to be a successful career woman comes to her by way of a phone call to a Radio Station. She wins a prize in the contest hosted by the Radio Station and bags the role of a Radio Jockey when she visits the office to collect her prize. Her ‘can do’ attitude and positive approach makes her the right choice for the role in a very competitive workplace. The travails that she undergoes as a late night Radio jockey and the problems she faces at home are so realistic. Though an adaptation of Tumhari Sulu where Vidya Balan has rendered a splendid performance, Kaatrin Mozhi is a fine film. Every actor has done an amazing job, special mention to MS Bhaskar and Mano Bala who have added interesting layers to the film. It is a norm these days to bring in Yogi Babu into every film, so Kaatrin Mozhi does that as well. It’s just a fun sequence but the film could have done very well without the same. As for Jyothika she is such a talented actor and does not have to put in any extra effort to be Vijayalakshmi, but she does that. And that in some situations comes across as an overdo, nevertheless hats off to her.
All in all a refreshing watch in times of so much of negativity all around.
