The House of Mangaldas is a heritage hotel located in the busy and bustling part of Ahmedabad. Along with its two annexes the hotel features in the UNESCO World Heritage City of Ahmedabad. The family has taken great pains to restore and revive this property and they have done it so tastefully that there is a beautiful blend of new and old. It is much sought after by foreign tourists as there are well-appointed rooms with old world charm intact.
There is an open courtyard on the ground floor which hosts the Green House café that offers Gujarthi delicacies and much more. This is a nice friendly and inviting space to linger and eat. There is a rooftop restaurant offering thali meals as well. The unique aspect of this property is that we gather that Gandhiji stayed here when he arrived in 1917 from South Africa.
