Hello Friends,

Solo, the bilingual film directed by Bejoy Nambiar has the young and versatile Dulquer Salman in the lead. This film is not the standard one story, five songs, two fights and glamorous dance numbers genre. Instead it has four plots with completely different stories all bound together by the main lead actor – Dulquer Salman. All of them are riveting stories bringing out strong emotions of love, passion, revenge, vendetta and loss. To say that Dulquer breezes through each of them is an understatement as his performances are so convincing and real.

As the hippie and passionate lover hopelessly in love with a blind girl he emotes so well bringing to the fore anger and a desire to protect his wife. In plot 2 as the doctor who is grieving the loss of his wife who plans a methodical revenge on those who killed his wife he is remarkable. Again as the army officer Rudra he is so in love with his girl and is helpless when met with rejection, and how he unearths the truth for the same is very absorbing. As the silent young don going after his father’s killer is again extremely well knit and tight. The colours, décor, costumes, backdrop are all so starkly different for each story and adds up to the mood of the film.

Though the film has opened up to mixed reviews, it is indeed a rich film with sophisticated making and is off the beaten track. All in all, a worthy watch.
