Hello Friends,
There are some films that are just good entertainers, there are certain films which make you wonder what’s for dinner at home, and then there is, once in a way a film that keeps playing in your mind even after you finish watching it. These are films that grip you in more ways than one and delight your senses, and even as intermission passes you are already planning when to catch the movie once more.
Baahubali is one such! SS Rajamouli has done it again, he has weaved the Magizhmathi magic on us, and we sit mesmerized.
There is everything in Baahubali – The Conclusion, breathtaking and brilliant visuals, colorful and copious costumes, subtle and soft romance, vengeful and victimizing vendetta, war and peace, Mahendra Baahubali (Prabhas) with rippling muscles looking every inch the king, Rajmatha Sivagami (Ramya Krishnan) as always regal and queen like. Devasena, as the sword wielding princess is stunningly beautiful, and you wish there were more scenes of her as the princess. She is not just the pretty princess, but an intelligent one who can quell any threats to her kingdom.
The soft romance that unfolds between Devasena and Mahendra Baahubali (MB) is poignant poetry indeed. Just when you expect MB to succumb to mother’s wishes and sacrifice his love, the story takes a pleasant turn and he takes the side of doing the right thing and therefore Devasena’s side. This is the starting point of all ills to follow, after which he incurs the wrath of Rajmatha and loses his chance of becoming the king and has to leave the palace as well. Each of these incidents follows one after the other in planned precision leaving no doubt in the viewer’s mind. Final war sequence is lengthy and layered, some of the acts are even beyond the computer graphics imagination! But this is Baahubali, so you just don’t question it.
As sequels go, it is very challenging to make an equally compelling part 2, if not a better one. Because there is a huge set of expectations to live upto and the dynamics are so very different owing to the passage of time. But hats off to the team Baahubali as they have achieved the impossible! Jai Team Baahubali!
PS: And ofcourse finally we come to know why Kattappa killed Baahubali.
